Children of the core - The extreme battles edition

In juni kondigde Masters of Massacre het children of the core festival aan, en kreeg iedereen de kans om zijn stem te laten horen bij het beslissen van de line up. Via verschillende forums, de e-mail en via de masters of massacre website stroomden de suggesties binnen. Na alle inzendingen zorgvuldig te hebben bekeken heeft de organisatie getracht de ideale line up samen te stellen.

In eerste instantie zouden er ruim 35 artiesten aan bod komen op deze eerste editie van het children of the core festival, maar aangezien de gemeente Lommel het niet eens was met de hier voor benodigde openingstijden zijn het er net geen 35 geworden. Nog steeds een flinke waslijst aan artiesten natuurlijk! Deze week zijn de laatste bevestigingen dan uiteindelijk binnen gekomen en kan nu voor het eerst de lang verwachte line up van dit spektakel bekend gemaakt worden.

In verband met diverse andere evenementen in deze periode heeft de organisatie er voor gekozen het festival een maand te verschuiven naar 26-03-2005.
Er word op dit moment hard gewerkt aan de speciale children of the core website die in Januari online zal gaan op het adres: http://www.childrenofthecore.com.

De locatie ligt op 30km afstand vanaf het Beursgebouw, net over de Belgische grens. Op de children of the core website zal een 360° versie te zien zijn van dit futuristische gebouw. Entreekaarten voor dit mega evenement kosten slechts €27,50 in de voorverkoop en je betaald slechts €50,- voor een VIP ticket.

Het verhaal achter Children of the core: (Engelstalig)
Years have past since man fought his final battles on the earths crest. When the smoke cleared, all that remained was damned. The now heavily polluted and toxic air drove the victims underground. There, unable to adapt to their new environment, all perished. Leaving behind an army of machines, build as their slave now master of the realm. With all passages to the surface blocked, unaware and trapped they are doomed to roam the earth’s core for eternity, orphaned children brought forth through the legacy of a lost and forgotten civilisation.

They are, the children of the core…
Millions of years later the planet and it’s atmosphere’s wounds, just as all traces of the civilisation that once ruled, and it’s gruesome faith are swallowed by time. Slowly but surely life on earth began it’s second evolutionary journey, eventually leading to mankind as we now know it. As time passed some found evidence of a lost civilisation, spreading rumours and telling of legends long gone. Telling of the children of the core

The year of the lord is 2005: one of these legends tells of an inaccessible mysterious dark depth. When entered it reveals the eternal sound of mechanical thunder, of restless machines that swarm the underground. Those who hear it become obsessed, doomed to spend their lives recreating this sound and spread it amongst the people. No one dares to speak their names; they are only referred to as DJ’s and producers.

Chapter one: The underground madness unleashed…
Recent studies have shown that one of these mysterious depths is located directly under a huge party arena on the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. The influence of that which lies below is clearly visible in this futuristic superstructure that offers room to over 8000 party people. On the 26th of March we invite every slave to the hardcore sound on this first exploration of the underground as we will unleash a small part of the underground madness, controlled inside the arena. Only the best DJ’s and producers have been selected to prove themselves to their underground superiors. These disciples of the core will all enter in extreme battles of up to four DJ’s at once, every round a different style, every round hosted by a different mc.

Those left standing, those who prove themselves worthy, those will be today’s children of the Core…
