For all you dutch people, how did you learn?
Uitspraak van Hot Pepper op zondag 11 december 2005 om 12:35:
I have to say speaking English is easier then writing it though.

I'll second that. When you talk to someone you can move you're hands around and talk fast or slow, when you write you have to explain something without emotions or movements.

Nice to hear you have a English boyfriend. :)

I don't agree.

Writing gives you more time to think about what you want to say and how you're going to say it.

And English grammer and spelling are not that hard to learn

That's true, but when i'm online on msn, and i want to have a nice conversation with a friend in the States, most of the time he doesn't understand me because it is going all that fast. So i think that when you're on a forum or writing a mail to someone it is indeed easyer, but when you have to write a story down in short time, it's quit difficult.

Well thank you. :) I've also lived for about 1,5year in an appartement in the Upper East Side of NY. I really enjoyed living there, it felt like my second home. Still miss it a lot though.. love to go back someday.

I'm afraid that's not gonna happen Karlijn, because we're going up the North (West Yorkshire) so it's not around the corner. ;)

But London must be brilliant with Christmas.

I used to go to an international school in Singapore.
was pretty cool tho.

Watching porn.
I'm what you call an autodidact.
I taught myself by watching endless hours of English television as a kid (and I still do):

- BBC
- Sky Channel
- Super Channel

Unfortunately, Sky and Super Channel are only available via Satellite or decoder nowadays :(

English was the only course in school I never had to really study for :)

And tv, internet, chatting with foreign people...
I think for the first time on school but the Dutch television also helps a lot with the english movies with dutch subtitles so that's a great advantage!!!..:D
