What does France have that Holland doesn't?

Well, French people are usually very bad with foreign languages, their english really suck so i think most of the time people just dont understand what you say. It's not a matter of "nationalism", just a problem of communication.
Paris is not France! People, atmosphere there is really different than the other places in the country (pardon pour les Parisiens mais reconnaissez que c'est vrai!),


look im from paris, my english is bad, but im nice guy lol

We are talking about France, and yes Paris is quite "special", this city is different than the rest of the country (the way of living, the pleople, etc...). To me Paris is not France, Paris is just Paris and i dont think people only went to Paris can say they know France and the French.

I wrote something about it before, chec it out on this topic. French do not refuse to speak english, they just dont know how to speak it! The way they teach it at school suck. Honestly, i dont see why you think French are arrogant, it's just like when people say we all drink wine and eat frogs all the time, that's a lot of crap and a missunderstanding of the French way of life / mentality.
just like other people outside holland say we walk on wooden shoes and live in mills :)

of course not ALL people from france are arrogant but a lot are. i always notice it when i'm on vacation in france

i'm french and i hate a lot of french people, a lot of them are not able to speak english or german...and some people say we have one of the best school system...pff
maybe i had to explain it better
i'm talking about the employees of stores/supermarkets in france
a lot of them give a certain look to us as dutch tourists...like they are better...i can't really explain it, but i don't have a specific example of what happened to me
Humm, i see... you get this attitude probably because they don't understand you, they try to so they look "serious", not friendly, but once again it's a problem of communication. Then, some employees dont give a fuck of their job, i would probably get the same attitude from them, a bit less because we speak the same language, i live here, and they know i can send them to hell if they give me shit, not like the tourists who can't speak french and only stay a few days. If you come during holidays, in touristic places, workers are tired and dont want to smile all the time to everybody (even if they should 'cause it's a part of their job). Also, there are asshole everywhere...

sure but if we dutch peoples come into france they don't try to speak any english on purpuse! they think france is the best country on earth. they convict our druggsminded thinking, but are the biggest weed - users in europe. i'm sorry i love the country but can shoot the frenche!

we both are 29 and when i'm in paris they all "can" speak english. my sister worked as a model there and had a lot of girlfriends who told me in english that they all speak it but won't like to speak it. they are just proud of theire country and language!
when i'm in france i have no choice to speak french! but when i'm in maastricht and they talk french they get an answer in english!

I have been in France for 2 1/2 months most of them don't speak french...i stayed for 2 weeks in Paris at a friends place, she was the only one of her family and friends who speak english... the younger people can't speak it and if they can they are very shy, because of there strong accent :yes:

what do you think about the french then? i think i went 10 times all across france for holidays and i really can't say they're shy peoples. maybe they don't like the dutch, it's possible! but they have for sure the best food and wine! what i like about them it's the easy way of thinking. like if we can't finish it today there's tommorow

we used to go with my parents long ago every year to france. i was in normandy, bretan, dordogne, bordeaux, pau and lourdes, perpignan, st tropez, jura, lot's of stages of the tour in the alpes, ardeche, pas du calais and lot's of times in paris but i can't see any differences between the peoples from the south west east or north. maybe in the south they're a little relaxer in the name of we finish work tommorow! but you think the french shy??! a live near maastricht and lot's of french from metz are buying there theire weed. and i really think they're shy at all. i can call m almost rude! but ok you can't say it from every frenchman ofcourse! what i really like is the french citchen. man i never eat that well as in the department of bourgogne (above lyon!?) and your supermarkets look like shopmals! they are really huge and very cheap!
