This tutorial will show you how to connect to a MySQL database using PHP. I am assuming a few things here, mostly that you have MySQL and a database already setup on your server. If you are not sure if you have MySQL, talk to your system administrator and get the following details:
MySQL Host/Server Name. This is usually "localhost"
Your MySQL Database. You may have to create this, but maybe not.
Your MySQL Username.
Your MySQL Password.
This should be all you need. You may also want to find out from your system administrator if he has any documentation on connecting to the database using PHP. They may have a special setup.
