Dit is een topic over hardcore in Engeland.
We worden op de hoogte gehouden over de Engelse hardcorescene door niemand minder dan DJ Smurf! :respect:
Aangezien hij geen Vlaams spreekt houden we het Engels!
Alvast bedankt!

Mr Giles - The track is called 'Benny' and is by Kenny Gee (THe Bexerker) on Shockwave Records. Thats 1 of my alltimes favourite tracks !
The scene in the UK is very different to that of Holland and the rest of Europe.

All of the big party's are mostly happy hardcore. Horrible tracks with singing and piano's. In the UK, this music is called 'UK Hardcore'. Very stupid becuase it is not hardcore, its just happy hardcore from 10 years ago with a different name !

What you people call 'hardcore' (Mainstream/Neophyte/Stunned Guys/Darkcore sort of style) In the UK we call 'gabber'

What you know as 'terror' some call it 'hardcore techno' or gabba !

Lots of silly names really !

At a big party in the UK, the main arena will be all happy hardcore with artits such as Scott Brown, Brisk, Sy, Hixxy and sometimes they may book someone like Neophyte, Tommyknocker or Evil Activities.

There will be a smaller room, which may have trance, hardstyle, hardcore (gabber) and terror.

There are some smaller party's where the music is all terror or a mix of hardcore (gabber) & terror.

I hope that makes sense !

:-O I'm shocked! :nocheer:
Happy Hardcore... :roflol:  Not really my favourite ;-)
But we do need to remember we also had a time here in Europe when all that "happy stuff" was also a real hype... I'm glad those days are over

It's strange that the "hardcore-scene" is so different between the UK and the rest of Europe, although we are not that far apart. But parties and having a good time that's what it's all about isn't it? :-D

But where do you prefer having your bookings? Do you like it more over here or are you more fond of your performances and the public in the UK?
Maybe you can tell us a little about your favourite gig you had until now? :-)

I enjoy playing everywhere the same, no matter if there are 20 people or 20,000 I will still put 150% into my performance.

I play in Holland more times than the UK. Firstly because there are not as many party's in the UK and secondly I am usually booked in Holland up to 5 months in advance so it is difficult for a UK organisation to book me ! When I get the chance to play in the UK, its always nice. The party's are small so you get to interact and drink with the people more and I get to see a lot of my friends and don't see very often. The Scottish people are the best party people in the UK because they go out to have a party and don't stand around watching every move the DJ makes and what records he is playing. I always love Scotland !

Playing outside the UK is still a pleasure and its nice to know that people appreciate what you do outside the UK. In most cases it makes me less time to get to a party in Holland than it does to a party in the UK. 2 months ago I had to get on a train for 5 hours for a party in England. It only takes 1 hour by aeroplane to Holland !

Howdy there Meeeeeeeeeeeeeester !
Smurfie got a little question
are there never big partys from the rest of Europe in England?
Like a Thunderdome, Masters of Hardcore, Project: Hardcore, Hellraiser, Earthquake, Raving Nightmare,...
or do any of those partys ever go to England?
Unfortunatly not !

I have thought about this lots of times as I think it would be a good idea if one of the big organisations tried something over here.

Is that English crowd then so different then here
that they may be scared for a party like that over there?
Or maybe they think a party like that will fail overthere
We have some partys in Flanders here but also not enough!
good for us Holland is very close to us
by the way! when is Smurfenland coming to Flanders?! :P

I think the UK will love a big party like that, but I think 1 of the big happy hardcore organisations would have to be involved so the party could be in a big enough venue.

I will hopefully have an announcement on a BIG Smurfenland party in a few days :P
in belgium? ;p

its kinda far to go there for 6 hours of party :(
Another party in my home town, so I can just roll down the hill to my house afterwards when Im drunk ...

Im playing a 3 hour oldksool electro hip hop set from the 1980's ! This was the first type of music I started buying and spent most of the 80's trying to spin around on my kneck, very badly !
