Well... I'm still tired but I have more energy now.
Beginigs are always difficult and I'm used to write a lot so I hope not to be boring
How started hardcore in Spain? I think that it is an interesting thik but it is something difficult to explain for me because I was 10 years old! hahahaha! I'm lucky and I know that my Spanish friends who will read this and they will correct me if I say something that wasn't exactly like this, they lived this moment and I couldn't
If I have to say where began hardcore in Spain... I would say the club Scorpia (actually also known as Kontrol) with dj Fran Trax. During his sets he played some hardcore tracks and in that moment (93-95 I think)the records shops sold hardcore records and cds. Even ID&T was interested about our country and they decided to do a thunderdome in Spain (1995)but unfortunatelly there wasn't as they expected and, althought a lot of people say it was amazing, there wasn't people enought in the party... it's a pity! Well... it was a good moment for hardcore in Spain I think but it finished and with all that I have hearded I arrive to the conclusion that it disappeared for 4 reasons: 1- Thunderdome was a "disaster", they needed more gabbers. 2- the records shops finally stopped to sell hardcore records and cds 3- I think that it was a little trendy too 4- 3 or 4 bitches putted their hand in our little scene and they fucked it. They tryed to imitate hardcore style and they proclamed themselves Spanish kings of hardcore when they dind't know what the fuck it is... and people, as sheps, followed them.
With all this I have to say that we have been a lot of years without hardcore parties and tired to listen in a club when we ask hardcore "you are crazy where not gonna put this shit in our club".
Some years later (I think 6-7 or something like that) a dj called Dj More started to have bookings in clubs like TNT, Scorpia and pont aeri and hardcore started to be a little bit popular again. I have to say that the best of this clubs was TNT (actually is closed) where the people was great and also we enjoyed djs like Promo, Nosferatu, Outblast and more. The ambient in Kontrol (the old Scorpia) and pont aeri became a shit. Kids thinking that they are nazis who likes to disturb averybody wherever they go. You can not have a peacefull party with them near you... So bad!
Thanks to More I started to listen to hardcore
And in the year 2004 (just in new year!) dj More got what he was looking for! A place to listen hardcore all the fucking night and every weekend! The placed was called gabberzone and it was the small area inside the club Kontrol (where I was working too). Djs like Ophidian, Noizefucker and Endonyx played for first time in Spain and a lot of Spanish djs had the oportunity to play there.Unfortunatelly we had to close because gabberzone couldn't survive with 50 people every saturday and our boss was so angry. Dj More since that moment started to make gabberzone parties in another locations but once in a month or something like that.
From 2005 till the end of 2006 we have survived making our own parties with Spanish djs and going to some hardcore parties that pont aeri started to do booking djs like armaggedon project, Vince, and more. But I wrote it before... the ambient wasn't the best.
Now... If I want to continue I think that I can't do that if I don't talk about Baszdrome. Baszdrome is website (
www.baszdrome.com) who was created by Baszmo in 2002 (I think... I'm not sure so I will correct it if it is necessary). Baszdrome is a web where you can find comments of records, little biographies of djs, a radio and if I'm not wrong a little label. And of course... a forum! there's a lot of forums but personally I think that this is the best Spanish hardcore forum that you can find. In this forum people knows a lot about hardcore movement (more, more, more and more than me) and they love it! We do parties and we like to go to parties together and have a great time. Baszdrome parties are the best for me!
Spanish djs that I would like to mention? yes! Baszmo, Gabberboy (who has a hardcore radio program in Madrid some years ago)Priego, Dave, Guardians of hell, Celeron, Ivanhard (but I think that nowadays he is not playing anymore), hardnoize... and of course dj More, but he is not in baszdrome and all people that I had mentioned is in baszdrome
Napalm Candy is not a dj but he produces tracks and if you remember this name you will see that in META4 E there is one of his tracks (dark overdrive, check it in
http://www.cardiac.nl/index.php?content=showlabel_detail&id=287).
Ok! at the end of 2006 Priego from Baszdrome met Rizomatik (I don't know the exactly word in English to define it but I will call it organisation) a little organisation who made legal and ilegal parties. They did one party with us and nowadays we have a very good relation and we help us all that we can. They started to introduce hardcore in ilegal techno parties and people accepted. Really positive thing because this kind of people is better than the guys in pont aeri who don't let you dance and who wants to fight with you
And there are more locations where celebrate our parties. So... hardcore scene started to change!!! that was great!! In this parties you can play what you want (in pont aeri and kontrol they told to the djs what was best for them) and the line ups are awasome! we coulnd't beilieve it! now we have parties with djs as Ophidian, Hellfish, Producer, Simon Underground, Rude Awakening, Stormtrooper, Sandy Warez, Matt Green, Peaky Pounder... and of course Baszdrome and Rizomatik djs. Some Rizomatik djs? Mekok, Narcopsy and Badgeorge would be three of them.
I forgot dj More for some seconds. Now he tries to show who where that "three bitches" who fucked our hardcore scene some years ago with his shows and sets. This is not easy because people sometimes don't understand what you are doing and they say bullshit without to know what's happening and also sometimes gelousy is so bad. I have to say also that the way he does his work is awesome and so hard sometimes and not everybody can like what he does (but you can't pretend to like to everybody of course!) He doesn't want to destroy this guys just to show the difference saying what is hardcore and what it isn't becuase it's a pity but people haven't too much hardcore culture. Well about him now is all that I can say, you will know more in the future. JUSTICE!
I think that that's all! next time I will correct the mistakes, if there are any, and I will say our next parties. Anyway you can ask all that you want
I hope you find this interesting. I think that it is important to know because dutch people (I didn't talk with people from Belgium about hardcore) somtimes is confussed with our hardcore scene.
I'm sorry if my English is not good enought I tried to do my best! Thank you!
