Biografie
Thorsten Hoffmann - a passionate music lover and vinyl enthusiast. His collection contains music from the last 50 years and reflects a deep love for 60s and 70s Psychedelia, Space Rock, Gothic and Industrial as well as Techno, House and Dub. This love for different psychedelic sounds from the past and present is notable even in his DJ sets which combine the physical power of Techno and House with mind-altering layers of sound. As a vinyl addict - as well as a DJ - he is influenced by the minimal and futuristic soundscapes of Mills, Hood and DBX.
Playing regularly in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, he made his US debut in 2007 at Movement festival's official after hour at "150 Bar", Detroit. In Europe he spun at various clubs and warehouses e. g. "Tresor" (Berlin), "Nouveau Casino" (Paris) and "Studio672" (Cologne).
As a producer Thorsten Hoffmann focusses on raw and Dub soaked sounds with industrial textures driven by bass and heavy kick drums. His work first appeared on Cologne Imprint "Authentic Music" in 2008.
2010 he has started his new club event: "Transition". By now, Thorsten has shared the stage with Shed, Fiedel, Klock, Nodge, Dehnert, DVS1, Redshape, Fengler, Dettmann and Vril. "Transition" has turned into the major event for underground Techno in his hometown of Aachen, Germany and draws an international, european crowd.
In addition to his work as a DJ, producer and promoter he hosts the bimonthly radio show "Headphunk" at a local radio station. "Headphunk" has become a leading force in the local underground scene and features DJ sets and live acts from the known and unknown - always live. Guests include Murat Tepeli (Ostgut Ton), Roland Casper (Essence, Magnetic North) and Joshua Harrison, Detroit (Beretta, Psycho Thrill).
