HAMdj

Robbert-Jan van der Plas aka HAMdj is born at the 11nd of June 1980. When he was 9 his sister gave him his first vinyl, Turn Up The Bass 1.

And he was hooked to the house virus.

Always listening to the fresh new beats. Because he liked it so, he decided around 1993 to save money to buy the records he liked and trying to mix them on 1 turntable (without pitchcontrol) and 1 cdplayer.

At the age of 13 he also visited his first houseparty (Nightmare in Rotterdan) and then he knew it for sure, he want to be an DJ!!

So he bought more and more vinyls and when he was 14 he asked the dj at a local disco ('t Jok) in Katwijk if he may spin some records. For 3 years he was one of the harderst dj's in the club and people from all over Katwijk came to listen and dance on his hardcore beats.

In the same time he visited some other disco's in Katwijk (de Wiek, de Mijlpaal and de Scum) and Valkenburg (De Peuk). And he spinned his records in de Wiek and de Scum.

He stoped as resident at 't Jok when he was 17. (this was an disco for people from 12 till 16years old) He allready joint the crew at de Scum at that time and when he was about 17 he spinned his first gig on the HOUSE in SCUM party's when he was about 20 years old they asked him to be a resident dj and this day (10 years later) he still is an resident on the HOUSE in SCUM party's and since 2004 he is 1 of the people who orginaize the party's.

Since 2007 he also has his own night, once an month on a Friday, the Fridaynight Housecafé at Scum, Katwijk.

In the last 10 years he also had a lot of gigs in the Bollenstreek in the Netherlands at the Massive Bass, Hurricane, Hard Magni, Hard Friday, Frensie's Pallace and Underground Shock party's.

Also he spinned many records at some local radio stations. And was the founder of the Housenacht an radioshow on friday from 22:00 till 06:00 @ radio Mebora in Rijnsburg about 4 times a year. This show was hosted by 2 friens of HAMdj and gave local talent the chance to preform live whole night. The show stopped because the station stopped and the hosts moved to an other station where there wasnt any room for the nightfilling show!

Highlight on the radio preforments was an invitation on the Old School Generation on Fresh FM hosted by dj Norman where spinned some old school records in an show with the dj's Gizmo and The The Darkraver.

New highlight in his radiocarrier was his resident on D.O.T.F. radio. An internet old school radiostation where the rulles are "Fuck Hokjes" so there will be mostly spinned underground old school records. Other residents of the show are dj Sneaky-D (founder of the staion), Jeff London, dj Vince an dj Stylo. Unfortunaly the show stopped after 10 years.

Nowdays he is running a bit slow because the birth of his daughter Yara on the 22th of november 2011.
And his son Finley on the 5th of september 2013
