Biografie
·At a young age, Mathieu de Man, was already influenced by music. When I was two years old, the only thing that could keep me in one place, was classical music, but that's just what my granny told me. Later on I tried making music, as so many kids with the 'magic's music maker.'
When I was 14 years old the first parties were going public in the news tabloids, television and even at some short point in time, ID&T radio, but that was a few years later. When I was 14, I started to experiment with mixing. The setup was simple;
1 mixer, no equalizers for the high, mid and low, only volume
1 sl 1200
1 pick-up player, my, there she is again, granny gave me.
During a period of a year or two the setup changed and it became 2 sl's and a proper mixer. That sad thing was, a few years later I got fed up by it and sold all my stuff to a friend of mine, who is now doing very well indeed.
Some years later, I started organizing parties, one in particular, KRANCK. A weekly based concept on the Thursday with house and techno. There it all came back to me and from that point on in 2007 the little boy who fell in love, was back again.
We discovered Ableton and it was a blast! You could create your own sounds or use sample packs. You could make a record, what we always liked to do, live remixing. A live session or performance would be like this; one guy on the rhythm, one on the synths and one to mix it all together and put in some basics in, to make it whole. Later on the mixing got my interest again, and for two years, I was part of the whole that is Bergmann.
At that point I figured, I would like to do a solo act as well, so here I am. Dermann, a mix of house, deephouse, techno, electro, dubbie shit, the sky is the limit. To say it in simple terms, I don't want to be pressed in that corner, I just want to mix great music. That's where I started and that's what I want to do!
