Biografie
Jon Hussey, a legend of the Irish Techno scene DJing since the early nineties, kick-starting at the infamous Planet Dub night in Dublin. He has promoted and resided at many Techno clubs throughout Ireland as well as playing in many Techno havens across Europe including London, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds and Torino.
In '99 Jon was among the first group from Ireland to qualify for the Red Bull Music Academy which was held in Berlin. Over the past decade he has kept this passion nurtured by being continuously involved in similar projects and innovations and recently organised a group of young rising Irish DJs and producers to participate at the pioneering PLUG "Plug European Electronic Music Conference" in Berlin.
Music wise Jon has played alongside many of his all time favourite artists from Plaid to Surgeon, Joey Beltram, Steve Bicknell, Ancient Methods, Loktibrada, Rumenige, Henning Baer, Inigo Kennedy, Neil Landstrumm,
Reeko, Grovskopa, DJ Boss, Bas Mooy, PERC, HARDFLOOR, Oscar Mulero, Jerome Hill, AnD, Woo York, Christian Wunsch and Exium!
In 2011 Jon dedicated some production time with fellow Techno DJ Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker Tricaustic and released "the Caustophobic Pressure EP" on Komisch records which was well received and supported by artists such as Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Peter Van Hoesen, Anthony Shakir, Smear, Kriz, DJ 3000 and many more.
Recently the national radio station (2FM) were quoted in their Late Night Sessions Blog as stating that "Jon Hussey is one of the longest serving true purveyors of Techno in Ireland, running nights in the early days of Dublin's dance scene, when techno to most people meant U96 or 2 Unlimited. Consistently one of the best DJs around, Jon never lets the side down" giving a rare insight into Jon's personality as a DJ!
