SPACEMAKER: QUEER UNDERGROUND STAR!
Since the early eighties Spacemaker spins his records. He started in the punk and new-wave scene, played electro and finally got struck by acid and tekkno. Nowadays he spins what he calls 'disco noir' or 'wavey electrix', an underground mix of trashy electronics, no style, lots of atmosphere, and hetero friendly of course!
The infamous Gay Punx compilation cd's of Spacemaker (now up to number 24) are spread through his friends and fans and give you an exciting peepshow of the music Spacemaker is spinning at the moment. You can't buy them, you get them from a friend.
In july 2014 Spacemaker and his muse and lover Leather E founded the record label Electronic Emergencies. They released an album of dark wave legend DAS DING, a 12'' of SOS with a remix of SPACEMAKER with his friend David Vunk and an EP of VISONIA.
At the moment SPACEMAKER organizes the following parties:
GAY BAR @ BAR: for the queerest of the queer, a radical queer dance night.
ZWART @ BAR: together with SSDJ Weefteef, an evening of amazing 'wavey electrix', dark & danceable.
PANIC IN THE DARKROOM @ COSMO BAR (oldest gay bar in the Netherlands) with Ari Versluis & SSDJ David Vunk - an outrageous experiment in atmosphere, music and gay heritage.
In a biography one is supposed to brag about the fabulous gigs you have had........ SPACEMAKER spinned @ Chantal's 'house of shame', Berlin's wildest and coolest gayparty since many years. To drop a few names, SPACEMAKER had his moments @ Roxy club (Amsterdam), MTC & Now and Wow (Rotterdam) etc. etc. of course.
SPACEMAKER also loves 'to do' illegal parties @ strange places.
SPACEMAKER loves to work for MAVV.
SPACEMAKER is proud to work with BAR.
ASS ASS: Together with SSDJ David Vunk and SSphotographer Ari Versluis, SPACEMAKER forms the queer gabber project ASS ASS. In 2006 and 2007 he spinned all over the world at queer filmfestivals where the video ASS ASS / you are fucking hardcore (with Ari Versluis), a raunchy tekkno track, was shown. Highlight was a stunning performance in Sao Paulo at the Mix Brazil festival.
The new ASS ASS track 'panic in the darkroom' is going to be released soon. ASS ASS is also playing live.
BLACK SPEED SISTERS: With soulsister SSDJ Weefteef, SPACEMAKER is the band BLACK SPEED SISTERS. The sound is dark, electronic & wavey. They are working on an album now!
Spacemaker is living in Rotterdam, an industrial port in the Netherlands.
He is influenced by the many different people living in his town and he loves them.
