Biografie
Born in the Southamerican summer of '86, Uruguayan Fede Lijt became a globetrotter at just 3 days old. At the tender age of 11 he was introduced to electronic music thanks to his mother, an artist and founder of Punta del Este's first underground club, El Milagro. It was in his room under the staircase of that same club –his home- where he would receive his first instructions on the beats that define his sound today. At 17, life led him to Bahía, Brazil, where he became resident DJ at Taboo, another of the family's clubs. But even before that, his experiments with creating loops and the use of simple production programs had evolved into a full-blown love affair with music and making it. His taste for all types of music, from bossa nova to jazz, Detroit techno and hip-hop, as well as a deep appreciation for organic and analogue sounds, has come to nurture an impeccable, eclectic style that accompanies him whether he's making music or relentlessly digging for the newest addition to a very impressive record collection.
In 2012, after years of cutting his teeth on South America's best dance floors and earning the title of one of Uruguay's most respected DJs, Federico decided to make the move to Berlin. The year that has passed has seen him play numerous gigs all over Europe, with many a presentation at Berlin's Club der Visionaere, where his sprawling sets have gone a long way into putting the name Fede Lijt on more than one tongue. He is well underway in launching his own vinyl-only label, El Milagro Records on which he'll be releasing personal material that has received excellent feedback, slowly garnering him attention. With a few very interesting gigs lined up and an ever-growing buzz encircling him and his music, 2013 is shaping up to be a constructive year for Fede Lijt.
