Royston Williams born in Bristol UK to Jamaican parents now resides in Amsterdam, he grew up in a Jamaican household in Bristol which set the foundation for his artistic career in music. From a young age Royston was exposed to wide variety of music and the sounds of drum n bass, Garage, rock and roll. He received the name "lyrical" at a early age because he would always rhyme whilst talking.

Whilst growing up in Bristol he recalls how he and his friends would to listen to tdk cassets and spit bars whils chilling. He and his friends would mc at local youth raves but it wasn't until he was living in Amsterdam when he met Bigzz, who became a good friend who introduced him to dj Precies and Maikal × .Bigzz encouraged him to join the group, he recalls "A couple of months later i was in the Studio with Maikal × and dj precise and recorded my first track ever. And then from then on i was making music. Our firtst mixtape called "the first confrontation" sold over 15.000 copies independently in the Netherlands" .
Royston see's himself as an all-round artist. "I make dancehall music but I wasn't born in Jamaica I was born in the UK so my music is influenced by many different genres such as drum n bass, grime ,rock, hip hop and R n B etc" .

Royston's work refers to everyday life he states that "sometimes I sing songs for the thugs and sometimes I sing for the girls and sometimes I sing songs for the youths…I make uplifting music".
