Biografie
David McKnight, from Glasgow, Scotland, first discovered his love of trance music in 2009 on holiday in Ibiza. After getting his first set of decks in early 2010 his passion for mixing soon became obvious. While studying for his degree, David was offered a slot to broadcast his mixes on student radio station, Subcity Radio, and so in October 2010 Tranced was born.
It wasn't long before the show was getting noticed and in July 2011 Tranced was snapped up by specialist trance internet station, Sense FM. David was also offered a weekly slot on Trance FM allowing Tranced to be broadcast on a second internet station every week.
The show has grown rapidly in the past two years, boasting over 1,400 fans on Facebook and 3,600 followers on Twitter, as well as being listened to in over 50 countries around the world. The popularity of Tranced has resulted in trance giants such as Sander Van Doorn, Cosmic Gate, Sean Tyas and W&W providing guest mixes.
The success of the show led to Glasgow nightclub, Boho, offering David his first live night in June 2011. The night proved a hit with Glasgow clubbers and David went on to host 2 more live nights at Boho. The success of the live nights led to a move to specialist dance club the Soundhaus in September 2011.
In May 2012 David made his debut in Glasgow's most famous nightclub, The Arches, supporting EDM legend Carl Cox. This was then followed by various other gigs around Glasgow & being named alongside more trance heavyweights including Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Dash Berlin, Markus Schulz, John O'Callaghan, Tritonal, Daniel Kandi, Alex Morph, Heatbeat and Simon Patterson to name a few.
In March 2012 the popularity of Tranced on Trance FM resulted in the show being extended from 1 to 2 hours.
The weekly radio show is broadcast every Wednesday at 10pm (GMT) on Trance FM with regular listeners from UK, USA, Greece, Germany and many more around the world.
