Biografie
Dunderpatrullen is a four-man electro-collaboration with roots ranging from the wild, untamed forests of northern Sweden to the flower covered fields of southern Scandinavia. The quartet makes music and visual entertainment in a category of its own. Behind the powerful music-making machines, the band members Jim, Stefan, Patrik and Erik fills the musical void left behind by now obsolete retro-consoles you once grew up with and still love. Dunderpatrullen takes you on a musical adventure through a full-color shower during which they make you feel like riding a mental roller coaster of nostalgia.
Their music needs more than a few adjectives to be explained but is heavily inspired by the world of video games and flirts frantically with a nostalgic retro-sound. The band combines heavy bass with melodious synthesizer loops resulting in unforgettable performances when seen live, making it hard even for a paralyzed sloth to remain subdued. The sampling and inspiration which often can be found in Gameboy and Commodore 64 games, and when mixed with instruments like banjo, guitars and distorted mouth harp, becomes unique and playful.
But the music isn't everything. With more than two strings to ones bow, the quartet has also been described as an early internet phenomenon with a sense of humor based on spontaneity and improvisation in their videos. The band's YouTube video 'Oj! Vilken överraskning!" (Translation: 'Oh! What a surprise!") went viral in a very short time, with more than one million views.
In 2013 Dunderpatrullen was asked to join Sweden's largest YouTube network 'Splay". The number of subscribers to this network recently exceeded one hundred thousand. Dunderpatrullen has performed at 13 different venues and festivals across Sweden and overseas during the past year without any management involved.
Dunderpatrullen are right now working on their third full length album 'Keygeneration" which will be released in summer this year.
