Biografie
Some people in this world seem to be predestined to excel in everything that comes across their path. This epithet fits the diminutive DJ/producer and vocalist Adeline. By combining an undulating vocal range with muscular yet seductive rhythms – overarched by a certain Swedish rock 'n roll ethos – Adeline continues to ensnare international crowds at her fingertips.
Shooting to prominence in 2012 with her debut release 'Love Handles You' on Get Physical's off-shoot imprint Kindisch, she early on attracted support from key players like Jamie Jones, M.A.N.D.Y, Damian Lazarus and David August, along with taste making dance music institution Mixmag who paired her alongside Carl Craig and Paul Woolford at their Mixmag Live event in October. Playing hotspots everywhere from Berlin, to Paris, Los Angeles and Moscow, as well as London's Eastern Electrics festival with Julio Bashmore and Maceo Plex, and Sonar Rebel Rave together with Amirali, Fur Coat and more. March this year sees the unearthing of her next original release.
'What You Got' is a 4-track EP on LA based label du jour Culprit, which comes with a remix from New York's Thugfucker, featuring Greg Paulus of No Regular Play on trumpet. Permeated by her strong individual sensibility, the output is hypnotising chords and wobbly bass lines entwining with slithering melodies, that are punctuated by Adeline's own playful vocals.
Originally raised among rolling Swedish countryside, via Stockholm's club scene and playing out in 2005, a masters in mathematics and presenting Scandinavia's biggest electronic music radio show, Adeline can also add a curating role to SoundCloud, still in its infancy, to her credentials. Yet, it would take studies in Fashion Management in Milan, via Parson's in New York, before she landed in the musical nucleus that is Berlin. Inspired by the creative flow of the city, a clear sonic vision began to take form and in 2010 she moved to London, opting for artistic freedom over the conforming restraints of mathematic formula.
As the rest of 2013 unravels, Adeline continues on her spiritual and winding path, bringing her eclectic choices further afield than before having teamed up with Pulse Radio for a new monthly radio show – rest assured she invites you along for the ride.
