Where else would hear bolero patterns played on a wood spoon to the breaking system of a Leyland Daf 45 Garbage truck? Kamikaze Space Programme walks the tightrope between the Musique Concrète ethos and modern electronic music. KSP's manifesto is based on Foley sound recordings techniques of sampling real world sounds to bring a sense of order amidst the chaos of everyday sounds. You are just as likely to hear the rhythm of a kitchen sink or a coin rattle alongside modern low frequency trickery. His music has taken him across the globe and these influences are only too apparent in the rhythms and textures of his music.
Chris started his professional music as a session musician which lead onto a career engineering at a recording studio in the mid 90's. Bursting onto the dance music scene as Drum & Bass producer Raiden in 2001, he would quickly cement his reputation as a DJ/producer by signing to the legendry Renegade Hardware label and dj residencies around the world soon followed. Always on a mission to bring the sound that occupies his mind he created his latest endeavour, something that would represent him with no compromises.......Kamikaze Space Programme.
Within the first year of creating Kamikaze Space Programme Chris worked hard at creating his own identity and as a result is earning a strong support network with major interesting brewing from top artists and labels as well as major festival appearances. KSP has released written Ep's for labels Deca Rhythm, Bob Bhrama's West Norwood Cassette Library, Paul Mac's Tactical & and the legendry Trust label plus remixed artists such as Paul Mac, Aubrey, Exaltics, James Monro and Drums Of Death to name a few.
Artistically there is much more to come from KSP, as much as this an overused cliché, it's never been more applicable.........'in a sense this is only the beginning...you truly have to know where you came from in order to know where you're going'.
