Biografie
Eamon Harkin is one half of the partnership that is all things Mister Saturday Night & Nowadays.
As a DJ, label owner, music producer and venue owner he cares little for the boundaries of musical genre. Hailing from the North of Ireland he now calls Brooklyn home where the legendary Mister Saturday Night & Mister Sunday parties have given birth to Nowadays a permanent space that fosters care free musical focused community.
Mister Saturday Night is a recurring party based in Brooklyn, NY. It's organized and DJed by Eamon Harkin and Justin Carter. The duo also run an associated daytime, Sunday afternoon party called Mister Sunday. The party started in Santos Party House, a traditional Manhattan club, in early 2009, but left the club in May of that year and began hosting its events in non-traditional venues such as Market Hotel, 12-turn-13, Silent Barn & Shea Stadium. Mister Saturday Night offers an alternative nightlife experience that is "just as interested in constructing an engaging journey and fostering community as they are in dropping good tunes."
Before starting Mister Saturday Night Eamon enjoyed residencies at now shuttered New York clubs Studio B, LOVE and APT where he briefly had a Tuesday night party with the legendary Afrika Bambaataa.
Mister Saturday Night Records the independent record label associated with Mister Saturday Night was founded by Carter and Harkin in 2012. The label started as a home for the artists that were regulars at the party, but it has grown to feature artists from outside of New York as well. The first eleven releases were hand-stamped, vinyl-only EPs, and in 2015 a compilation album of new and old material from the label's artists, called Brothers & Sisters, was voted #9 in the top 10 compilations of the year by Resident Advisor.
As a DJ Eamon now travels the world regularly with his partner Justin Carter taking the diverse sound of Mister Saturday Night to Europe, Australia and America whilst the duo continue to hold down a full schedule of parties in New York. As a producer he has released records on Argot, Throne of Blood, Wurst Music Co. and Mister Saturday Night Records.
In 2017 Eamon & Justin opened the Indoors at Nowadays.
