Sticky Icky is a musical collective from the heart of England bringing the very best to the UK and around the world. The group's manager Siddney Youngblood handpicks vocalists, producers and musicians from different backgrounds to form what we see and hear today. Quoting the BBC "Sticky Icky is exploring all the different realms of dance music working with many talented artists".
The group is also a signee to BAMF Records, who brings not only worldwide distributions but award winning visuals too, which are shared with the music to bring it alive through its cinematic film production. Combining them to fulfil the pieces that are now held dearly to many and also being classed as pieces of modern day art, which have already started to leave an endless trail behind them and an array of influence's to inspire and for all to share and enjoy.
The group consists of 9 members and has a total number of over 30 official tracks including remixes which BBC Music has picked up since the 30th November 2015 with Sticky Icky's first ever broadcast on BBC National Radio with the track entitled 'Promises'. Siddney Youngblood whom is the writer of the group says "By having the chance to the work alongside the producers, vocalists, cameramen and editors has all helped create the final product that I have wanted to portray with Sticky Icky".
'Promises' was one of the first tracks and videos completed alongside BAMF Records bringing much more music and videos as the label merged through within the group boasting its superb camera crew and editing skills. George Leon quoted "All the crew and members of the group enjoyed filming in Cornwall, St Nectar's Glen, the holiest place in England in which the video was made with the power endured through the legend that dates back to King Arthur's time".
The group's single 'How I Feel', features a debut performance from lead singer Skye, who heads up Sticky Icky with there 1st ever track created. The 22-year-old was born in the UK but grew up in Detroit. Skye spent her early years listening to R&B and rap and says she found comfort in music when her parent's divorce meant a move back to the UK in her early teens.
She says: "I found myself relating to a lot of soul and Motown singers and I listened to rappers like Eminem to help me deal with the feelings I was going through. Music was the only stable influence I had and I used it to help me to find my own singing voice. I found a release in singing that helped me to cope with what was going on around me."
A chance meeting with director/producer Siddney Youngblood led to talks of forming a group. Skye adds: "Siddney is a powerhouse of enthusiasm. We got chatting and I told him of my love for singing. He was already in talks with UK producers, Swardini, Thomas Graham and Simon Kaye over forming a collective that could support many artists and musicians – along the lines of Massive Attack - and how they could draw from a pool of talented people to create different sounds.
"The new team were so fired up I believed in the project and what we can achieve together. We tailored the track to suit our message – that although Sticky Icky represents the trials and tribulations of life we want to reach people with our sounds and provide a loving vibe that anyone can relate to and that helps bring folk together."
The Sticky Icky projects quickly took of and are currently a worldwide known pop group producing unique sounds and professionalism that captures all within, with an artistic tale and exclusive twist the full official album is complete within 2 years.
