Biografie
*"I never intended to be a dance music artist. I always envisioned myself
in some version of Led Zeppelin or something extremely loud and heavy but
as i do love classic disco and soul, transitioning into dance music was fun
for me, and it's been exciting to bring a very singer/songwriter point of
view into that world".*
It's no accident that if you're a true fan of Dance Music, you've seen Amy
Douglas's name over and over again. In 2017 Traxsource declared her #30 on
the Top 100 Vocalists in Dance Music and with a nearly 5 octave range, and
a background singing everything from hard rock to jazz, vocalist, the
singer, songwriter and pianist has become one of the most recognizable
voices in Dance Music, jokingly (or not) earning the nickname by some as
"the Queen of Nu Disco"
As one half of Peach Melba- DFA artist Juan Maclean's House and Techno
project, Amy has become the "go to" for providing powerhouse vocals, and
killer hooks, providing them for such artists as *Luke Solomon, The Crooked
Man, Latmun, Willy Joy, The Genevan Heathen, KON, Treasure Fingers, SUPRA
1, The Crooked Man, Kon, Eli Escobar and Soul Clap's Michael The Lion. *
Amy's first solo outing, "Never Saw It Coming" was released on DFA Records
and quickly ascended up the dance charts, and blazed across dance floors
all around world, most notably getting love in the UK, making the #2 song
on Bill Brewster's Furtive 50 of 2018. "Let's Go Dancing" her first of
three songs on the upcoming *Horse Meat Disco *LP, was released at the top
of this year, the video already gaining fire. She was the voice of "Walls"
on the second Crooked Man LP, and has more scheduled releases including
follow up singles, a full length with Peach Melba on DFA more goodness
with *Luke
Solomon* and *The Black Madonna's* debut album, as well as a new
collaboration with The Crooked Man, it's safe to say that you'll be hearing
and seeing much much more of this rising star.
