Biografie
We are a 9 piece revolutionary roots reggae band from Utrecht. Writing and performing our own irie music with a conscious message at it's core.
In the beginning there was earth, water, air and fyah !!!!! And so Independent Intavenshan was born. From the humble beginnings of a studio project with Ozzie Dee spitting his revolutionary lyrics to an awesome studio soundtrack. Ozzie realised he wanted to take this project to another level and slowly but surely live instruments were added one by one, finally to where we stand 9 strong on stage today.
Having taken and arranged the original music to a live band set up, we are now busy creating our own irie tunes.Our first release, the six track 'Do The Right" EP hit the streets in October 2013 giving the band the opportunity to promote it in venues and festivals all over Holland.
Some of the highlights were performing with Reggae legend Earl 16 at the Reggae Ruigoord sessions, the Bevrijdingsfestival in Utrecht and as the opening act at the Counter Culture festival main stage.In 2015 we wanted to expand our sound by adding a permanent horn section and percussionist to the band, as over the years we have had occasional help from friends but never a steady crew. With our current line up we have recorded our second EP 'Rub A Dub Emergency" which we are releasing by ourselves and is planned to come out in autumn of 2015.
