Dolphin is an artist who is constantly pushing himself and his craft in new directions. With a career spanning more than 20 years, this process of perpetual self-reflection has made him one of the most dynamic figures in the hard electronic music scene.
Following the release of his widely acclaimed debut album, 'Information Asymmetry', Dolphin needed a new challenge. He spent a year intensely studying music theory and the piano, becoming more invested in his musical interests beyond the dancefloor. 'Ebbs & Flows' is the result, a compendium of electronic music that distils Dolphin's patented production features: an emotive and musical approach to hardcore, inventive sound design, and a knack for catchy club bangers.
The diverse 16 tracks presented on 'Ebbs & Flows' have been divided into three chapters, with each chapter responding to a different part of the human experience.
Chapter one is about the mind. These tracks, featuring the record's most experimental works, express the artist's own drive to be creative, with beautifully arranged tracks like "Phonaesthetica" and "Ghost Notes" reflecting directly on how we respond to and connect with music.
Chapter two is the soul of the record and contains some of Dolphin's most poignant tracks to date. Melodic "Ebbs" and atmospheric "Flows" are the album's centrepieces, highlighting the brutal and euphoric elements at play throughout 'Ebbs & Flows'.
Chapter three is aimed squarely at the dancefloor, and for bodies yearning for the kind of release that only happens at a rave. Here are Dolphin's devastating club-ready earworms that have lately been signed to PRSPCT, with lyrical tracks like "London" and "Heavy Hitter" leaving their mark long after the record has stopped spinning.
Dolphin's "Ebbs & Flows" Album will hit the streets November 27th on 3 x 12" Vinyl, CD & Digital format.
