Industrial = Muziekgenre binnen de elektronische muziek met een kil en donker karakter, gekenmerkt door een eigen klank die tot stand komt door het gebruik van overstuurde geluiden en effecten uit een synthesizer en drumcomputer, waarbij de nadruk meer op het ritmische aspect dan op melodie ligt, wat meestal van ondergeschikt belang is en waardoor deze muziekstijl veel overeenkomsten vertoont met techno.
