EXPECTATIONS IN HIFI 4rd edition SATURDAY APRIL 14TH 2007
Zaterdag 14 April is het weer zover! Expectations In Hifi in zal weer plaatsvinden in de Exit, dit keer met een internationale line-up!!
Voor deze editie hebben we de heren Tom Ellis en Leif aka Trimsound laten overvliegen uit Wales. Wereldwijd zijn ze wel gerespecteerd en dit zal hun debuut zijn in Nederland, jaja een primeurtje! Met releases op toonaangevende labels als Moon Harbour, Telegraph, Morris Audio, Trimsound en het lijstje gaat maar door, zullen ze nu het Rotterdamse publiek kennis laten maken met hun sounds.
Live, bewapend met bassgitaar en flink bewerkte loops, zullen ze met hun pompende funky minimal sounds de Exit flink aan het swingen brengen!
Dit is nog niet alles! Want we hebben nog een bijzondere gast-dj. Carlos Valdes uit Amsterdam! Bekend van de beruchte Vreemd avonden in de sugar factory. Maakt Nederland en het buitenland al geruime tijd onveilig en nu is Rotterdam aan de beurt.
Natuurlijk zullen onze lokale helden deze avond ook aanwezig zijn. Dit keer een speciale selectie. Jay Samuel, oud-Future resident, rockt nog steeds!
Ray Parker, deze getalenteerde dj zal dit jaar steeds vaker achter de draaitafels te zien zijn! De avond word weer afgesloten door Hilbert In Hifi en zal in stijl geopend worden door de Sisters Soigni.
Genot voor oor en oog! Dus wees er vroeg bij!

Tom Ellis and Leif play together as Trimsound Live, using a combination of live loop mixing, DJing and live bass guitar. The sets are usually filled with a cross section of house and techno brought together with a deep and funky vibe.

LEIF
UK-based artist Leif has a driving pasion for all quality music. From classic reggae and deep dub through to trip-hop, funk, house and techno, the influences can be heard in his trademark blend of minimal/dubby yet driving percissive tracks. He often plays and samples live percussion for use in his music and concentrates much of his creative output towards his live DJ sets, which combine live loops and effects using a mixture of heardware and vinyl / CD.
Leif's music can be heard on such labels as Trimsound, Mindtours, Morris Audio, Archipel, Moon Harbour and Jay Haze's net-label Textone as well as remixes for Logistic and Telegraph. Forthcoming releases include tracks on Frankie records, True to form and Fear of flying.

Tom's many influences show through in his different styles of production, ranging from jazz to techno, although these days he focuses most of his energy on dancefloor-friendly music. His backround in live performance and his training in sound enineering come together to give him a good understanding of how to create what he likes to hear.
Tom is well know for his dj sets, usually consisting entirely of his own music, and producing for such labels as Trimsound, Mindtours, Morris Audio, Logistic, Floppy Funk, Minordust, Moon Harbour , Telegraph and Archipel, with future releases planned on Franie, Six On Six, Tonimusic, Spontan Musik and True to Form.
