Claydrum Indoor 2016

gepubliceerd door , op
Claydrum & EPM team up for the first 'Claydrum Indoor' event of 2016. After the huge success of Indoor '15 with Chris Liebing, Ben Long, Elias Manzian & Sandeep (check the after movie here), this time Claydrum & EPM take things a step further. Delivering not one but two heavyweights of the Techno scene with Dave Clarke and Ben Sims, but with a twist: a special House / Disco set from Mr Sims under his Ron Barcardi moniker.

Dave Clarke is a DJ with an anarchist streak a mile wide and punk in his soul.
He continues to buck predictability and do his own thing. "I've never been interested in what's trendy and what's not" Clarke explains. He flies the flag for the true techno spirit, pushing cutting edge music whether at Berghain, Fabic, Fuse, Awakenings, I Love Techno, Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Glastonbury, Nature One or on his own stage at Tomorrowland. Clarke also continues to be a key player in the Amsterdam Dance Event where his 'Dave Clarke Presents….' event at Melkweg has sold out consecutive years running.
As a producer his career started out in 1990 on XL (at the same this label was also launching The Prodigy). By 1992 Clarke had started his own imprint, Magnetic North, but what happened after this was to take his career to the next level: the 'Red' trilogy was unleashed in 1994. These releases catapulted Clarke into a different league and he suddenly found himself remixing the likes of Kevin Saunderson's Inner City, The Chemical Brothers, New Order, Depeche Mode, Moby, Leftfield and Underworld. With several albums, hugely successful mix CDs and now his '_unsubscribe_' alias alongside producer XX behind him Dave Clarke is once again set to take it to the next level with new artist material in the pipeline. In short, Dave Clarke might be established, but he will never be establishment.

Ben Sims is perhaps one of the most eminent figures techno has to offer. A main attraction for underground cognoscenti since storming out onto the scene over 20 years ago, he has honed his reputation as a tight, energetic mixer who skilfully weaves together his own distinctive blend of tough funk and hardgrooves, often using three-deck wizardry and plenty of dexterity.
Through an always-in-the-bag output, spearheading his in-demand 'Run It Red' radio show and heading up labels such as the now-defunct Theory, the long running Hardgroove and recently launching Machine, the Londoner has been hanging tough like it's nobody's business. He first performed at Claydrum in 2014 but this time he will be headlining the house room with his pseudonym Ron Bacardi delivering a set of blistering, raw house and disco edits.

EPM co-founder, Oliver Way is one half of Detroit Grand Pubahs with Paris the Black Fu, Oliver Way – aka Mr. O has played the world over. Taking in everything from house, techno, electro and rave Oliver returns fresh from his back2back set with Ben Long (Space DJz) at the EPM & Claydrum Xmas party. His experience & skill as a DJ was noticed by Robert Hood who selected him to DJ alongside the master of minimalism for the M-Plant label events where Oliver last DJed at the HYTE v M-Plant during ADE.
As a producer he has released on BulletDodge, Motech, Urban Substance, Torque, EPMMusic and the Pubahs own labels Detelefunk & Engineroom. Expect something a bit special for the night with Way at the controls!

Thomas Vrijhof is a vinyl enthusiast, with a mix between House, Disco and Techno. He got acquainted with house music at Innervisions on the beach and since then he was hooked. His little brother and fellow Claydrum DJ Bob Caro had already been DJíng for a while and turned out to be a good teacher and practicing buddy. Endless sessions in Bob's living room along with Flatspot made him into the DJ he is now.

STØRM is inspired by early Detroit and Chicago acid house and techno. He tries to combine the early roots of techno with the present day deeper techno sound. The combination of using timeless tracks and having no fear to think out-of-the-box often results in unexpected aberrations. Størm aims to hypnotize the dancefloor with a combination of classic and new style techno while constantly adding variety to his sets.

Local Maastricht mainstay Mingus was born in the Dutch city of Gouda, where he attended his first house parties at the Xienix Club in the late eighties. In 1990 he moved to Maastricht, but it wasn't until 2003 that he picked up the DJing bug and was invited by Break 3000 (Dirt Crew) to play his first gig. Since then he never looked back, playing events around the city and beyond at the infamous Electronation events, EPM hosted parties, Cirque Excentrique in Amsterdam, Magneet Festival, Extrema's Solar Weekend and most recently his intimate vinyl-only parties together with Milan Palma, under the title River Rhythms. His musical landscape ranges from deep house to techno, mashed into a distinctive, full, and genuine sound.

Flatspot, is a Dutch-born DJ of electronic dance music, fusing a deeper form of tech-house with dark grooves and funky peaks. Growing up in a small town called Born in the very south of The Netherlands, his passion for music began to bruise at a very young age. Through the years, he learned more about music, the production of it and his love for it is still growing even more.

Glenn Thompson made his start as a DJ at Claydrum events in 2011. It has been a whirlwind experience ever since. His passion for deep atmospheric house & techno has entertained many crowds. He has a fixed goal dominating the evening: delivering that distinctive Glenn Thompson sound in the strongest of possible ways. With releases and remixes on Lowendcommunity Glenn is beginning to forge his own sound and is certainly one to watch over the coming years.

Claydrum is a techno family with roots in the south Netherlands city of Maastricht, whose audience has quickly grown from 200 to 1500 in just 4 years, bringing some of the most internationally renowned DJs to the city.

EPM is an internationally recognised music company and record label with offices in London, Berlin and Los Angeles, as well as Maastricht. They have showcased events at ADE (Amsterdam), during Sonar at Nitsa (Barcelona), Es Vive Hotel (Ibiza), fabric (London), Berghain and Suicide Circus (Berlin), Doornroosje (NL) and hosted the techno stage at Solar Weekend Festival (NL).
