Biografie
In the late '80s, London-based Steve Bicknell was resident DJ at the Energy raves, participating in many of the defining events in UK club culture's history.
Steve and Sheree Rashit run the now legendary LOST events which influenced a whole generation of British electronic musicians, Steve has DJ-ed at events throughout Europe, Japan, Australia and America, including The Rex, Liquid Rooms, Sonar Festival, Tribal Gathering, Tresor, Bugged Out, Berghain, Eleven and Fabric
As a producer, Steve has recorded under his own name and several aliases (The Evader, Kim Bilir, S.B. Project), initially releasing on Perfecto and NovaMute before Steve and Sheree Rashit set up Cosmic records, to release both his own material and that of Jay Denham, Robert Hood, Juan Atkins, DJ Rush, Tyree Cooper, Mark Broom and more.
He has remixed tracks for Joey Beltram, Luke Slater, Plastikman, Dj Rush, Hauschka, The Advent and The Drum Club to name a few.
In 2015 Steve has released 2 tracks, spread over 2 V/A. EP's on Ostgut Ton as part of Function's offical Berghain 07 mix.
New Cosmic material as well as a series of remixes are also due to be released this summer.
Forward-thinking and rigorously uncompromising, Steve has remained connected to the roots, putting quality before quantity, innovation before imitation, and sticking firm to ideals and principles – an unswerving, singular vision guided by a deep and enduring devotion to the music that inspires him and a desire to present it in the purest way possible.
