Biografie
Lorenzo Cheng-a-June better known as Los Carlos is a producer/live performer and dj from Holland.
Born in 1986 by Surinamese parents and grew up with a lot of music and the culture.
At a young age he discovered his love for music and started to make his own.
He learned how to make music with a computer from his cousin. Started with Fruity Loops, Reason and Ableton he worked his way around producing with a computer.
In 2011 he released his first track on Akwaaba Music called Elegom Bounsa (Los Carlos Kuduro Bootleg) by Djeff & Maskarado. It was supposed to be an unofficial bootleg. After sending it to Akwaaba Music in Africa they offered him an official release of it. Not long after that he was one of the four producers who won a remix contest of Tatali by Double also on Akwaaba Music. His second release in 2012 was Double - Tatali (Los Carlos Kuduro Remix) and is available in iTunes Store, Beatport and other portals.
Los Carlos is still working on his productions and collaborates with some artists such as Rasskulz,MC Then,MC Boogshe and Duckface Zombies.
Nowadays he still uses his computer to make music. He works a lot with analog synthesizers such as a ARP AXXE, MOOG Slim Phatty, Roland Alpha Juno 2 and his vintage Sequential Circuits DRUMTRAKS drumcomputer. The only digital thing in the whole process is recording it in Logic Studio on his Apple Mac. Los Carlos' style is a combination of African style music with Surinamese influences and house/latin with a bubbling flavor.
He is graduated on the Herman Brood Academy as a producer/engineer and is still busy with music productions and gigs in the weekend.
