Born in Lagos, raised in Rome and now based in London, Shunaji boasts that most rare, vital quality in an MC: a distinctive, ear-pricking sense of flow. Her influences range from hip-hop to folk and ambient. For her, this means working to build up a style that draws on a wider spectrum of sounds. Taking cues from the likes of Andre 3000 and Missy Elliott, she looks to strike the elusive balance between lyricism, rhythmicality and character.
