Larry de Kat

Deeply rooted in all that's funky and jazzy, this cat got his inspiration from dancing to the music of Prince, Michael Jackson and Daft Punk on the radio from an early age on. While he was reaching his adulthood in the city of Utrecht, The Netherlands he discovered the electric guitar and eventually this lead to his creations of electronic music, that we know of him now. It's impossible, however, to pinpoint his style as a producer because of his versatility. It's a guaranteed quality output you'd expect from a professional, identified by the unique sounds and arrangements.. Be it disco, house, hiphop, techno or even jazz.

Therefore, it all makes sense that he nowadays plays all across Europe and has build up quite an impressive list of releases ranging from labels like: Slapfunk Records, Lazare Hoche Records, Times are Ruff, Adult Only and most recently Dungeon Meat, critically acclaimed by the likes of Mark Farina, Ben UFO, Brawther, Bicep and Subb-An.

Even though he keeps a low profile as a person it hasn't gone unnoticed that he keeps on rising in popularity as a producer and DJ, and his own imprint Katnip is fact. So, if you have the chance to catch him play his favorite records in the club, make it worthwhile and bring your best dancing shoes so that you don't have to worry about missing one single beat.
