Biografie
·Noel da Silva (DIGGA is a raw Hamburg born DJ talent. Already very early he developed a distinct love for electronic music. Growing up in close proximity to the infamous red light district of St. Pauli, Hamburg has definitely shaped his music taste from the very beginning. Being exposed to numerous top class venues like the Baalsaal, Ego, Übel und Gefährlich, Hamburg had a lot to offer to a young music lover like Leon da Silva (real name).
The decision to be more than just a passive consumer came already in 2010. After finishing High School in 2010, he decided to go and work in England for a year. The latter has definitely influenced the shift in taste from classic German techno to "English influenced melodious bass house", as he calls it. After returning from England in 2011, with all new influences in mind, he and some of his closest friends conceived the open-air party "Klammheimlich". This concept offered artist, like the Hamburg born talents like David August, MvdL, Momo and many more a platform to play at outdoor raves, even in winter times. The concept proved successful, which lead the founders to the decision to make it an all-year event. In summer 2012, he and his close friend Laurids van der Lancken also organized the concept party "0815". Due to a lack of DJs, Leon decided to back-up the DJs and so his passion for dj-ing was born.
Finally moving to The Hague, Holland has set the ball rolling and boosted his ambitions. New friends Zamba J. Bakana and Mithras Cabolet, better known as "Distûrbe" have encouraged him not only to play at house-parties but also in front of a bigger audience. Together, Leon, Distûrbe and their big friend network from all over Holland and Germany, created the music platform "Kollektiv", which has the outspoken aim to offer a platform to young talented DJs and make Holland, especially The Hague, a brand name for quality music.
In 2015, Kollektiv will make the move to become an actual music label with regular releases.
Leon describes his sets as sometimes dark and deep, sometimes happier with a lot of hihats and vocals, sometimes-straightforward house.
To him, "it is important to catch the mood of the audience, to start a music journey". In other words or how "H.o.s.h." just recently put it: "A set is like a hike in the mountains. Sometimes you go uphill, sometimes you run downhill, you reach peaks and you fall into valleys."
As influential artists, Leon names the Hamburg based "Diynamic" label, Dutch upcoming super talent "De Sluwe Vos", British newcomers "No Artificial Colours" as well artists like Rhadow, Michael Rosa, Dale Howard, Francesco Robustelli, Camiel Daamen only to name a few.
In his very young career he has already played at Loods 3 (Scheveningen), Cue Bar (Amsterdam), HAL16 (Utrecht), Karavaan Beachclub (Scheveningen), The Rootz (The Hague), Club7 (The Hague), 330live (The Hague), Qip (The Hague), Nochtspeicher (Hamburg), Klammheimlich Open Air (Hamburg)
