Biografie
Gardland is the laboriously cracked energy exchange of Alex Murray and Mark Smith.
Originally from Sydney, Australia and currently based in Berlin, the duo focus on improvised hardware-based performance and composition. Skirting the edges of techno, house and avant-garde electronics, the Gardland sound is typified by a free-wheeling energy, or in the words of De:Bug a 'psychedelic thunder without any false restraint".
After starting their own label Hunter Gatherer in early 2013, Gardland were tapped by the critically lauded Brooklyn label RVNG Intl for a debut record. The result, Syndrome Syndrome, was released to considerable acclaim in October 2013 prompting Juno to exclaim "Gardland have created their own kind of techno language that's blasted with the electrical energy you could imagine was designed to reanimate corpses".
