Biografie
At 22 years old, Louis La Roche is perhaps the next great hero for the British dance music scene. Louis has undoubtedly been influenced by UK legends such as The Chemical Brothers and Basement Jaxx, alongside the unmistakable French house sound of the 1990's. Louis La Roche grew up listening to Daft Punk, Cassius and Mr. Oizo and his inspirations have already led him to being confused for one of his heroes.
Louis sprung to prominence with his Michael Jackson sampled debut track 'Love' (which was originally mistaken for Daft Punk) that quickly made an impact across the blogs and led to recognition via an article by the British newspaper 'The Guardian'. From there on Louis went on to form his own record label 'Ever After' on which he released EP's 'Me & Her' and 'Super Soaker' and teamed up with Yann Destal (of Modjo) for the single 'My Turn'. Louis also collaborated with German producer Patrick Alavi on the EP 'Number One'.
Louis' single 'Gimme Gimme/The Wall' topped the Beatport Electronica chart at the end of 2011 and his following single 'Untrue/Touch Wood' featuring vocals performed by Louis and a guest appearance from upcoming UK rapper Ad Apt. Both singles feature on Louis yet to be released debut album 'Hello You'.
As well as his self-releases, Louis has remixed the likes of Madonna, Basement Jaxx, Fred Falke, Spiller, Don Diablo, VV Brown, Del Marquis (of the Scissor Sisters), Teenage Bad Girl, The Swiss, Speech Debelle and Lonsdale Boys Club. Unofficial remixes include the likes of Kate Bush, Justin Bieber, Riva Starr & Fatboy Slim, Burial and Gorillaz.
Alongside his various releases, Louis has produced a series of mixtapes called 'Scenery', which collectively have over 60,000 plays on SoundCloud. Additionally, Louis has received more than 2,000,000 hits on YouTube.
Louis' music has received airplay from Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Kissy Sellout, Jaymo & Andy George and written music featured in the Channel 4 series 'Skins' as well as composing the theme for Canada's 'Much Music Video Awards'.
Furthermore, Louis has featured on numerous compilations including Annie Mac Presents and for record labels Ministry of Sound, Modular and Defected. Louis has also toured America, Australia, China and Europe and has shared the stage with Armand Van Helden, A-Trak and 2ManyDJs.
Louis recently released the 'Composure' EP on his own label Ever After, and the single 'Kaboom/Funk Trunk Skunk' on OM Records. More to come before the end of 2013...
