Biografie
Paul Beckwith first heard House music while he was at a warehouse party and it was that moment that marked the beginning of a love affair in sound and rhythm. As a child, he had started off playing piano, guitar, and drums but he was always looking to the next thing whether it was an instrument, gadget, sound, or the next song. Hence it was a natural progression for him to enter into the world of electronic music and technology. Paul became obsessed with this new world and wanted to learn everything he could, so he applied to and then attended Berklee College of Music in Boston.
While at Berklee his talent was quickly recognized by his mentor, Prince Charles Alexander (Grammy award winning producer for Mary J Blige, Puff Daddy and more), and his work there culminated in his winning of the Peter Gabriel Production Award for Outstanding Production/Programming and Innovation in Modern Productions. At Berklee he was able to define and refine his abilities to make music that married banging underground beats, soaring pop vocals, and complex instrumental arrangements.
"Beckwith's" original instrumentals and vocal works appear on credible dance labels such as Anjunadeep, DJ's Are Not Rockstars, and Next Plateau. He has remixed singles by artists and producers such as NERVO, CREEP, Morten Hampenberg and Alexander Brown, Matt Darey, Boom Jinx and Andrew Bayer, Esmee Denters and Justin Timberlake, Kele (Bloc Party), Crookers, Lauren Flax, and Larry Tee.
He may just be coming up on the radar, but you can count on Beckwith's wide array of sounds and projects to keep pushing boundaries and blurring the lines between genres.
