Biografie
Young, fresh and vibrant, that's the best way to describe Lucas Gravell's sound.
Lucas started making music at the tender age of five, taking piano and church-organ lessons. Broadening his musical horizon happened straight after he got his first computer at 12 years old, downloading Tiësto's podcasts he started to develop a taste of electronic dance music and thought of new ways to put his musical upbringing into play.
When Lucas releases his first track "Gostosa" on Crystal Source Recordings (picked up by Ferry Corsten) under alias CJL, he was fifteen and eager to not only be a producer, but alsof play his tracks out loud to a crowd. Getting a taste of DJ'ing also ment getting exposed to diversity of flavors in electronic dancemusic and development of his own particular style of spinning and producing.
Combining more housey influences with his melodic insights was the way to go and led to Lucas' release Bermuda on Hardwell's recordlabel Revealed Recordings (September 2011). His fresh sounds soon got noticed by reknowned DJ and producer Lucien Foort. Lucas was signed to Lucien's Groove Garage production-team.
Working and learning the tricks of the trade under Lucien's wing, Lucas get's to the next level fast. Playing at favoured festivals and clubnights like Groove Garden, Intiem Outdoor, Fresh Outdoor, Heroes of Housemusic, Bigroom Lovers, and primetime sets at NOXX Antwerp, NUNU Club, Beachclub Bloomingdale, Escape Amsterdam, Mondial Beek makes Lucas into one of the sought after hot new DJ's.
Then he catched also a release on Ferry Corsten label "Flashover" called "Unknown Specimen" and having the track used by Ferry Corsten as the opening track on Ferry's Corsten's Countdown radioshow is just another step towards the great future that lies ahead of him (June 2012)
Soon there will be a follow-up at Revealed Recordings called "Ledande" including an edit of Hardwell himself, released soon!
