Biografie
In the early 90's Sergio Zaandam aka Deejay Kid was already a hero in his hometown when he made his first breakthrough appearance as a club dj during a Blackstreet concert in the Amsterdam Escape venue. Soon he became a household name at the biggest shows and events.
His creative and refreshing style; as one of the resident dj's in Club Timeless in Amsterdam he made the crowd go wild every Sunday. When the owner of the famous Club; El Cubanito in Zurich, Switzerland, heard him working the turntables he immediately invited him to come and play in Switzerland. Deejay Kid still flies from Amsterdam to Zurich as a resident in various clubs on in Switserland. Not long after that he could add the title of "best urban dj" to his list of achievements.
New York, Miami, Freeport (Bahamas), Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, Surinam, Bahrain and Dubai…
He travels the world. No-one less than Montell Jordan crowned Deejay Kid as the Dutch FunkMasterFlex when he was in Holland to promote his second album at a showcase in Sinner Amsterdam, where Deejay Kid rocked the house every thursday.
Usher personally requested BMG Records to have Deejay Kid as the DJ for his 8701 Tour in the Paradiso (a venue famous for it's live shows).
Deejay Kid performed as a support act for the biggest after-parties such as: LIL'KIM, Ja Rule, Jagged Edge, Blackstreet, Aaliah, Destiny's Child (Zurich), Mary J. Blidge (Zurich), Puff Daddy (Victory Tour), Brandy en Ray J (Zurich).
Commercials / Television
In 2003 Deejay Kid hypes the nation in his first television appearance in a Dubbelfrisss-commercial (beverage), with the catching phrase: "Zoene, zoene, maak me gek!". The commercial becomes a huge hit and was nominated for several advertising awards. Together with producer/dj Alvaro & the Afrobro's they created the timeless urban house banger Dubbelfrisss. The sky is the limit for a rising club star like Deejay Kid….be on the look-out
