Biografie
Real El Canario has been buying records since '84, DJing since '88, Professionally since '91. In 2012 I stopped DJing on commercial stages & took it back to what I've always done.
I'm not a turntablist even though I got my basics down, I am a Hip Hop DJ (That means I play everything that's funky to me), I've been collecting vinyl since 84'. My collection has everything that I could rock to, I aint about "rarities", I'm more about having every single Jam from the last 4 decades type of collection.
Influences: As a DJ my main man is without a doubt Afrika Bambatta, he is my main inspiration, then there's guys i look up to and learned something from when i started in the 80s: Jazzy Jay, Grandmaster Flash, Red Alert, Cash Money, Jazzy Jeff, Kid Capri, DJ Doo Wop, DJ Rizz, DJ Premier, DJ Scratch.. To those guys, Thank you for the inspiration & your contributions to this game it really helped me to build myself. I also wanna mention Kenny Dope, Funk Freaks Crew, Dam Funk (California), Les Adams
, and all the real DJs back in Amsterdam and all the Funk Heads out there spreading the Funk all over the world! Y'all keep me motivated too!

As a music producer, to me and many Quincy jones is the ultimate producer then there's many many guys out there doing great things, to many to mention.
The 15 Minutes of Funk Videos is a concept built for the Internet, I can spin fast, it's my style but on these videos I go faster than when I'm doing my thing at the gigs, just for the show. I post the track list just to spread knowledge around, we need more people that listen to good music, it's extremely rare to find a decent audience anymore! That's why I give the tittles away, to spread good music around!
