Biografie
As a multi talented DJ, producer and vocalist, John has always had the support of DJ giants such as Sasha, Tong, Oakenfold and Digweed – while also having his early Skanna efforts lapped up by drum & bass royalty like Fabio, Grooverider and Doc Scott. After inking an early deal with A&M in the UK and being championed by Paul Oakenfold, he joined Perfecto for several legendary releases, then the Hooj Choons and Virgin's 'VC' labels for additional projects. John went on to establish his own 'Boz Boz' label and more recently, released tracks on 'Bedrock,' 'Toolroom,' 'Raid/Strictly Rhythm' and 'Yoshitoshi.' As a vocalist, John has collaborated and written electrifying songs for the likes of Hybrid, Planet Funk and also Darren Emerson's exciting new project, 'The Low Highs'. He's been in DJ Mag's Top 100, and in the DJ List's Top 100 for the past 5 years.
As a DJ, John has traveled the world and performed at every conceivable hot spot – from Glastonbury, UK and Pacha, Buenos Aires to Avalon, L.A. and throughout Asia (and let's not forget his enviable residency at the notable Twilo, NYC). Kicking things off in 2012 with a series of gigs in Argentina, Mexico, Austin and San Francisco, John's plans now include another tour through Asia, with stops in Manila, Malaysia, Taiwan and China. He will then return to Europe for a multi-country tour.
In addition, his music has been licensed and charted innumerable times, most recently to Frank Miller's 'The Spirit' and 'CSI – NY'. He has worked on movie scores for films like 'The Taking of Pelham 123', 'Twelve', and 'Shrek Forever After 2010', and one of his tracks was featured on Charlize Theron's movie trailer for 'Young Adult'. Additionally, he has produced the music for video game trailers, including 'Transformers', 'Call of Duty- Modern Warfare 2', 'Call of Duty World at War', 'Call of Duty Black Ops', and 'Batman: Arkham City Riddler'.
A slew of John's smash releases have made their debut this year, with many more on the way. New tracks with his signature tech house sound are now out, including the 3 track E.P 'Great Stuff Grooves #3', on Munich-based label Great Stuff, and 'Here's This', with remixes by Alexander Kowalski and Marc Marzenit (forthcoming on MicroCastle [CA] and out now through beatport). The collaboration 'Arrest the DJ', with Lea Luna, which includes a hot 'Quivver' remix and video (on Magik Muzik/Black Hole [NL]), is available now. Due for release later this summer is 'I Don't Wanna Wait', featuring the vocals of Angel Hart on Toolroom . Finally, the first release 'Dice', from his stunning debut vocal/rock/electronic album, is slated to drop later this year on Distinctive .
