Biografie
Stevenson Cyril Porier (artist name Steven Cyril), born in The Netherlands, has his roots firmly planted in the Caribbean. His songs are a blend between, Urban, Latin and Pop. He would rather refer to his music as 'Feel good music' since music is universal and there is so much to explore.
Writing and often composing his music himself gives him the freedom to express music the way he wants to.
Steven Cyril started discovering music at a young age.
At age 13 he was part of a family band called G.L.B (1996). In 1998, G.L.B recorded an album in Sarasota Florida called 'Glad to be'.
His single (Celestial) was the first to be released and made its way up to the number one spot on the radio charts where it stayed for 6 weeks. It was also during this period that Steven Cyril was diagnosed with a rare degenerative eye condition called RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa). RP is an eye condition for which there is still no cure and the perspective is total blindness.
In 2000 he moved to the Netherlands where he continued developing his singing and songwriting skills.
In 2003, he starred in a small musical production followed by an unique opportunity to attend the Music Academy in Rotterdam.
In 2004, he joined the group "D-zine", an R&B close harmony group formed by his former vocal teacher Stanley Clementina.
The group did club tour in Germany as well as opening acts for artists like, Montell Jordan, Druh Hill and Ebony.
In this group Steven Changed his stage name to Steelo.
In 2008 Steven Cyril teamed up with the Latin artist Gatto Gabriel to form the group Latin and Sons. Together they annually toured throughout Turkey spreading Latin music across the borders.
In 2010 he featured with Ghetto Flow on the single 'Yo te Quiero Hacer'.

In 2013 he featured with his own father in the salsa remix of I can't live, 'No puedo vivir'.
Steven Cyril is currently working full time on his first Album. The album will be an uplifting mix between Urban/Latin and Pop.
He is expected to release several of his songs anytime this year 2014.
For Steven Cyril music is more than just that. With his eye on the future and his condition in mind, music now feels like a chosen destiny he can't deny.
