Biografie
DJ Bongz is an award winning South African House DJ, artist and record label owner. He is the only South African DJ to sell double Platinum with the 2008 "Survival of the Fittest" album and the 2011 "Soul Assertion Vol.1" album.
He is the creator of the "Gwara Gwara" dance that first swept South Africa by storm and then became a global dance sensation, with the dance famously being performed by Rihanna at the Grammy Awards. The dance was also
performed by both Ciara and Childish Gambino and appeared in the Black Panther Challenge.
After Rihanna's Gwara Gwara dance performance, Bongz international recognition rapidly grew. 2018 has been a massive year for the artist which saw him partake in one UK tour and two US tours where he performed in Washington DC, Florida and New York. The highlight of which was performing at the One Africa Music Fest in Brooklyn in front of a crowd of 5,000, alongside African legends Davido, Wizkid and Tekno. He continued this success by releasing an official Gwara Gwara track in March 2018 and in June 2018 he then released the "Gwara Gwara Worldwide" track with major artists L.A.X and DJ Maphorisa.
Bongz is also an extremely talented DJ and entertainer who is able to bring the vibrant South African music style to any event, with his unique mixes of Afro House and Gqom. 2018 has not been the only successful year for this established DJ and artist, as in 2015 he released "Ofana Nawe"which has amassed 1.8M YouTube hits.
The artist also has a sizeable social media following with 280K Instagram followers, 104K Twitter followers and 307K Facebook likes.
