Biografie
In the past 10 years DJ Maarten Goetheer has positioned himself as a stalwart of the Asian Dance Industry. From his residency at Hong Kong's KEE club to his role as the in-house Booker for Bangkok's new underground temple BEAM. Maarten Goetheer is in the frontlines of Quality Dance Music.
Maarten style has firm roots in Disco, Boogie and Classic House but he is also known as a passionate House and Techno exponent who can rock the HOUSE echoing the Detroit, Chicago, Berlin and Amsterdam scenes. These influences range from Boo Williams, Theo Parrish, Moodymann, Kenny Larkin, Lil' Louie Vega, Kevin Saunderson, Todd Terry, Karizma, Ron Trent, Rick Wilhite, Tom Trago and many more..
Groomed in the vibrant surroundings of the Amsterdam nightlife, Maarten won his first DMC DJ contest at the age of 17. His emerging talents soon earned him a DJ residency at the hotspot Bitterzoet just a block away from the famous RUSH HOUR record store. In 2010 a move to Asia kickstarted his imminent DJ career. Ever since then he has been waving the flag for Quality Underground Music in the region.
Maarten has held residencies at infamous M1NT (Hong Kong), KEE club, MIDNIGHT & CO, DROP, ARMANI/AQUA and BOUJIS (the Famed London hot spot's HK venue). He was also invited to play at the Amsterdam Dance Event, Red Light Radio, Mystic Valley Festival (Thailand), Wonderfruit Festival (Thailand), ALTN8 Festival (Hong Kong), Potato Head Music Room (Hong Kong), Potato Head Beach Club (Bali), The Powder Room (Singapore), Ku De Ta (Bali, Bangkok) Sri Panwa and Baba Beach Club (Sri Panwa Resort, Phuket).
He is currently in charge of programming and djing for BE<M and VOGUE Lounge (Bangkok). The past year he has worked on shows with Satoshi Tomiie, Ian Pooley, Pillow Talk, Detroit Swindle, Alex From Tokyo, Tom Trago amongst many others.
